Eating a macaron in Paris

I forgot to tell you that I fulfilled my tentative plan. Mulptiple times! I also got my parents hooked on macarons (they were in Paris after the Ireland wedding). Success!

That Pierre Hermé macaron was the best one of all. It is a vanilla "cookie" with pistachio and cherry filling. It was so good it made me sick.

The top picture features a macaron from Ladurée. I became quite familiar with these little darlings because Michael bought two boxes for his coworkers before we found out that our flight was cancelled. I couldn't let them go to waste. You understand.

Erin, I hope this is not too creepy as we do not really know each other, however, we also tried to bring home Laduree macarons (one of the stores was really close to our hotel) and we weren't allowed to carry them on to the plane! We had to put them in our checked luggage and they did not survive the consecutive 6 hour flights. We ate the delicious multi coloured crumbs with my parents.

My favourite was violet-black currant.

I think I might be eating a violet-black currant macaron in the top photo, but I preferred the caramel and salt flavour at Laduree. YUM.

It sounds like Michael made the right choice when he bought chocolates for his coworkers after we rebooked our flight...

I have to go back.

As an aside, I just got photos back from my January visit to Victoria . When a friend flipped to the photo I took of the two of us, the same one you took, except for my eyes are closed in mine, she said, "Ooh, pretty eyes," about you. Just thought you should know.
