Tourists in our own town

A few weeks back Michael and I took a holiday. We stayed at the Empress for a night because it was affordable (thanks to the tourist in your own town promotion) and because we needed a break from reality. It was a perfect one-night vacation, even though we were back in stress town the following day. The hallways were our favorite part, even though we didn't see any ghosts. We're all about The Shining in these parts.

Did you go for high tea? I love the photos---the one of Michael is amusing and creepy though.

Also...There is a promo going on for Vancouver Islanders at the Sooke Harbour House. I haven't been there, but I hear it's delish.

Creepy. I love it. My new apartment (which I'll be moving into in May) has a very Shining-esque hallway. And a ghost. It's creepy. I love it.

i didn't go to high tea because it was too expensive, even with the discount. also, i don't think michael was into it.

When I was in highschool I went to the Empress with my best friend. Her parents paid for everything---including high tea and room service breakfast! It was an exciting and extravagant time.
