Restless hands

I've been searching for a new school bag/purse for a while now, and this is one that I settled on:

I found it on the labyrinth that is Etsy: an online community of people who sell homemade goods. I just ordered it today, however, so I can't confirm the success of the transaction just yet.

Speaking of homemade goods, I find that I have a powerful urge to make something with my hands after spending so much time on the computer: yesterday I was looking into how to make my own lip gloss. I've noticed this urge during semester's past, but it seems stronger this year. If I finish my homework on schedule, I may be able to satisfy the craving with a knitting break with some buddies on Sunday. I have tentative plans to make it happen.

This bag is perfect! I love it! It has "Erin" written all over it. Can't wait to see it in person. Let me know if you go ahead with the knitting on Sunday and don't mind a tag-along. I'm nearing the end of my crazy busy work month, so I just might be able to join you. I made an apple/pear pie on the weekend, having the same urge to create things. Must be something in the spring air.

I made time to make banana bread last night. Any suggestions on how not to get those pockets of flour when you are only supposed to mix until moistened? You all know what I'm talking about.

sift! sift the flour and that helps reduce some of clumpiness.

I want to make a felt version of those cardboard coffee sleeves. I just have to suss it out. Maybe we can have a craft night the next time we are in the same city?

I really like the bag, Erin. Before reading the post, though, I thought the picture had been taken in your apartment and was kind of wondering about the tacky calendar and the sheet music on the music stand. I'm sure the new bag will be much happier in its new home.
