Making lemony lemonade

Simple Lovely featured the blog Make Grow Gather last week, and I've developed a little crush. I read her post about Meyer lemon simple syrup, and when I saw organic Meyer lemons at the market, I knew what I needed to do. I needed to make a cocktail.

Lemony Lemonade* (makes one drink)

1.5 oz Meyer lemon simple syrup
1.5 oz gin
4 oz tonic water
2 ice cubes

Put all of the ingredients in a glass and give them a stir. If it's warm enough to open the door for some fresh air, do that.

*This drink is named after the first craft blog I ever read. The one that inspired me to get off my butt and start a blog, but which no longer exists. I'll make you one without gin next time you're in Victoria, Zoe!

Yes please! You are too sweet. And isn't the idea of simple syrups exciting? Any flavour sno-cone you want! Amazing.

I was scared of making simple syrups for a long time, but now I'm a pro. Well, not really, but we have made rhubarb simple syrup, and that's a pretty fancy move. What other kinds would one make?

Hey - I posted about sno-cones, but it never showed up here! So I am posting again. Sorry if I end up repeating myself. Anyway, what I said was, that while I haven't made sno-cones since I was little and my neighbour had a snoopy sno-cone maker, it was this post (from design*sponge) that got me all inspired about sno-cone flavours. And while I am still stoked to try making some, it actually snowed here today, so frozen treats are out and hot cocoa is in... Hey - I wonder if you could make delicious flavoured cocoa with simple syrups. Mint? Raspberry?

Yeah, I saw your comment in my email, but it never showed up on the blog. Thanks for posting again, friend. That is a very important link. I can't believe that lady has a sno-cone business. It doesn't seem like a wise business decision (especially here), but it sure seems fun.
